The Information Commissioner is also the Ombudsman and is a member of the Standards in Public Office Commission and the Commission for Public Service Appointments. The Office of the Information Commissioner shares offices with the Office of the Ombudsman, the Standards Commission and Public Service Appointments Commission. The organisation ensures that relevant accessibility requirements for people with disabilities are, where appropriate, included as part of the organisation's procurement procedures. This applies to both the provision of services and the supply of goods. Section 27 requires public bodies to ensure that unless it would not be practicable or justifiable on cost grounds or would result in an unreasonable delay, goods or services supplied to the body are accessible to people with disabilities. In accordance with section 39(1) of the Act the organisation has appointed two inquiry officers for the purposes of investigating a complaint in relation to a failure by the organisation to comply with sections 25, 26, 27 or 28 of the Disability Act. In accordance with section 39(2) of the Act, the organisation has drawn up procedures for the investigation of complaints by inquiry officers.
